Glenn Beck is insane.
If Fox news was a respectable news organization, you would have to feel sorry for them. But of course, they're not. Fox News is an entertainment organization whose continued operation depends on the less educated of us agreeing that they are "fair and balanced" news reporters. They report, we decide. So it is just simple kismet that the decision to hire a fringe radio and YouTube quack named Glenn Beck is becoming a daily nightmare for the organization.
The latest instalment of the Glenn Beck embarrassment is a wonderful kaleidoscope of idiotic decision, bumbling lunacy, and flat out head shaking amazement. In addition to giving this uneducated and un-medicated sociopath millions of dollars and a prime time TV audience in the heart of their schedule, Fox also erred considerably in not assigning a handler to Beck, and allowing him to interact freely with the real journalistic world. Could nobody at Fox see what a mess this would become?
Not only did Beck have the opportunity to circulate freely in public, he somehow found a way to face down the towering legend of Barbara Walters, live, and on air on her widely watched show "The View". The poor Beck had brought a knife to a gunfight. His soon to be infamous appearance on The View just days after insulting Ms. Walters on his own show speaks for itself, and is "must see" You Tube fare, the kind that makes a viral You Tube video a wonder in all on its own.
Becks "View" debacle is painful to watch, in the same helpless way that watching a video of a drunken man stumble in front of an oncoming train is. It took Walters only the slightest of prodding before Beck - clearly absent a brain - blurted out despairingly that he was not a reporter, did not check facts, and was simply a humble commentator. A fair assessment by an unbalanced charlatan.
If you are the type that can watch a freight train blast a vodka soused human to pieces over and over, you will simply love this video.
Of course, given the size and scope of the gaffe, one has to suspect that Becks Blackberry was vibrating his belt off as Fox News damage control attempted to rein in the disaster. He got sick, and mailed in his rebuttal over the phone - which is worth watching if only to allow the man a few more yards of rope to hang himself.
While it's not news, and not important, it's funny. And who couldn't use a laugh at someone else's expense these days?
We don't use crappy ads so we can post what we want.
We use crappy "Donate" buttons instead.
